Representative Information
Helensvale-Pacific Pines CC supports it's Junior Representative Players
The junior cricket programme revitalised by the club some 4 years ago has proven so successful this year it has produced 5 players selected to represent the Gold Coast at the upcoming state wide cricket carnivals. Our congratulations and best wishes go to the following players;
Cooper Sands, selected in the U13 age group as a middle order batsman and leg-spin bowler. Cooper's U13 State Carnival is being held here on the Gold Coast at a combination of the TSS, Surfers Paradise CC and Cheltenham Ovals from Dec 12-16.
Jack Baird has been selected in the U14 age group as a leg spin bowler and mid-lower order batsman. Jack's State Carnival is being held in Mackay from Dec12-16.
Josh Coombe and Shaun Riddell have been selected in the U14 Development Carnival being held on the Sunshine Coast from Jan2-6. Josh has been selected as a top order batsman and medium pace seam bowler and Shaun as a left arm swing bowler and hard hitting lower order batsman.
And Rhys Coombe will represent the Gold Coast at the U16 State Carnival at Brisbane Grammar School's Northgate playing fields from Dec12-16. Rhys has been selected as a top order batsmen and off-spin bowler. Well done boys!
The club wishes the boys the very best on the field and in a show of financial support to them has put in place a number of initiatives to assist the boys with their ~$1000 cost to participate. With support of Options Tavern at Westfield Helensvale raffles are being run on Saturday afternoons and on Saturday evenings the boys themselves will be cooking up sausages on the bbq for a gold coin donation back at the clubhouse. The club will also be taking donations and if all goes well with our other Saltwater Creek Raffles will be using some of the money from that to help get the boys to their Rep games.
We trust the club and the community will get behind our talented young cricketers and hopefully next year we'll have even more to throw our support behind. Go Hawks!
