Junior Training Times

Juniors training will commence next week with the following days and times.

Under 17's Tuesday and Thursday nights 4.00pm -to 5.00pm.

Under 15's( gold and green) Wednesday and Friday nights 4.00pm to 5.30pm.

Under 12's Tuesday and Thursday nights 4.00pm to 5.00pm.

Under 10's Tuesday nights 4.00pm to 5.00pm.

All training will be conducted at Hession Oval.

Milo Cricket will commence on Friday the 14th of October 4.30 pm to 5.30pm, 10 weeks concluding on Friday the 16th of December. This will also be conducted at Hession Oval.

AGE GROUPS
Age groups are based the age you are on August 31, 2011.  Example: A boy born 1/9/1998 and therefore 11 will be in the U/12's (and be the oldest player in that age group).

This year we are entering teams in the Milo Kids (U/6-U/10), U10, 2 x U15  and U17 age groups.  We would like to emphasise a real team effort in our junior program giving all our kids a fair chance to play and enjoy the game of cricket.

Fees include a Milo Cricket Kit for MILO KIDS and a club playing shirt, club cap and insurance for U/10-U/17's.  A club training shirt ($30) and Boys White Playing Trousers ($30) can also be purchased during the registration process.

Hawks  Junior  Scholarship Program 2011/12

The Helensvale Pacific Pines Cricket Club recognise that the cost of providing your child the basic equipment to play junior cricket can be somewhat prohibitive to "first time players". To overcome this issue the Hawks have introduced the Hawks Junior Scholarship Program. All recipients of the Scholarship will receive from the Hawks, 1 brand new cricket bat, 1 brand new pair of batting pads and gloves, 1 brand new cricket bag, 1 brand new pair of cricket pants. A club playing shirt and cap will be provided standard as part of the registration fee. At the completion of the 2011/12 season all of the equipment shall become the property of the junior player. Six Scholarships will be offered this season to parents of junior players. To be eligible to qualify the following criteria must be met.

1. The junior player must not have played junior cricket at any other club other than a Milo beginners program.

2.The player must pay his/her registration fees.

3. The player must return all of the cricket gear provided under the scholarship in the event that they leave the club prior to the completion of the cricket season.

4. A parent/guardian must volunteer their services to the junior team in which the scholarship player nominates to play in. This role can be coach, assistant coach, scorer, umpire, team manager or team statistician or any other role the club deems necessary. All training required for these roles will be provided by the club prior to the commencement of the cricket season.

If you have a child that you would like to nominate for this program then please apply by speaking to the Junior Co-Ordinator Jo Byrne or her assistant Ian Wade-Parker at the clubs sign on days, 21st and 28th of August. The 6 successful players will be announced on  Friday 2nd of September 2011.

Milo Cricket: 

MILO cricket is an introductory cricket program for kids aged 5 to 9 years old. Cricket Australia, together with the state and territory cricket associations, began MILO Cricket in 1982, learning is conducted in a safe learning environment and teach children the fundamentals of the game, assist to develop co-ordination and ball skills, and maximise cricket participation for young boys and girls.

The Season, for MILO Cricket, will Commence on the 15th October until the 17th December 2010 (10 Weeks) at Hession Oval on Fridays 4.30PM - 5.30PM.
